As an experienced custom metal fabrication, welding, and machining shop, we are here to serve our customers and our community. Below is a list of some of our most commonly asked questions. Contact Us TodayWhere are you located?
Our shop is located at 2485 South 1350 West, Logan, UT, just off Highway 89/91. We are only a 10-minute drive from downtown Logan, an 18-minute drive from Smithfield, an 8-minute drive from Wellsville, and a 25-minute drive from Brigham City.
Do you do mobile custom welding?
Yes! If your custom welding job is on a structure, or a broken weld is preventing your machine or equipment from coming to us, we can come to you. Call us to check our availability and schedule an appointment.
Does your shop have minimum rates for a job?
No, there are no minimums. We pride ourselves in our efforts to help our customers and provide important services to our community. Send us a prototype drawing of your broken part, or a picture of the repair job required, (or better yet, bring the part into the shop) and we can give you a custom quote for the repair. We appreciate your patience as we work hard to get back to our customers in a timely manner.
Can you help me create a design prototype?
Yes! We invite you to schedule an appointment to come in with your prototype drawing. We can review the technical details of the job with you. We will help you iron out the wrinkles, and provide an estimate for the design prototype build.
What is the lead time for creating my prototype?
At Mountain View Machining, we have a large and experienced team of machinists and welders and we specialize in rapid prototyping. While we can’t tell you the lead times for your exact prototype on our website, we will review your prototype plans with you and give you a lead time on how long it will take us to produce it. We are very prompt with our deadlines and will provide your prototype for you by the agreed-upon date.
Can you replicate broken machine parts?
Yes! Using state-of-the-art computerized measuring and cutting machines, our expert team can create custom machine parts to repair your equipment. Call us for more information, or a custom bid.

Do you have CNC capabilities?
Yes! We have computerized mills and lathes as well as a 5-axis and a 2-axis Flow® Waterjet cutter.
These computer-guided machines help us create custom parts and prototypes with very tight tolerances. We know the importance of keeping up with developments in technology, and we are consistently adding new machines to our shop.
My machining needs are very unique. Are you sure you can help me?
Well, we are very glad you asked. As an example, we once had a client bring in his idea for a part drawn on a napkin–we turned that simple drawing into a reality.
We are continually taking on new and challenging projects, and our true capabilities lie not in our state-of-the-art equipment, but in our knowledge and experience. Please feel free to bring us your new, unusual, or challenging projects. Contact us today for a consultation.
